Primary account holders in good standing and age 18 or older are eligible to be a candidate. Applications can be submitted by email, mail or in person by March 13, 2020.
The Annual Meeting to elect board members which will be held on March 17, 2020 at 528 Main Street. The Meeting will begin at 5:30.

2020 Candidate Information
Thank you for expressing interest in running for the CFCCU Board of Directors. To inform you of our election procedures, eligibility requirements, and time commitment, we have prepared the following information for your review.
Nomination Procedure. In order for your name to appear on the ballot, a short biography must be completed, signed and returned to Helen Pearce at CFCCU PO Box 1009 Cedar Falls, Iowa 50613 by March 13, 2020.
The Annual Meeting to elect board members will be held Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at 528 Main Street Cedar Falls, Iowa 50613. You must be at least 18 years of age to serve as a CFCCU director. There are four credit union policies for you to be aware of as you consider candidacy:
- Board/Employee Relationships. No director may serve if there is a member of his/her immediate family employed by the credit union. This includes the following relationships: spouse, parent, brother, sister, child, grandparent and grandchild. The term “family” includes in-law relationships. The purpose of this policy is to eliminate any conflict of interest.
- Prior Employment at CFCCU. A candidate cannot be a previous employee of CFCCU who was terminated or whose resignation was requested. A candidate who is a former employee, but who was not terminated or whose resignation was not requested, cannot have been employed by CFCCU Credit Union within the last four years prior to the election date.
- Member in Good Standing. A “member in good standing” is defined as a member who is bondable, has not caused the credit union a loss, and has not abused share draft or ATM privileges.
- Conflict of Interest. A candidate may not compete with CFCCU or have an affiliation or material interest in an entity that offers products and services which could be construed to be in direct competition to the primary products and services offered by CFCCU When matters pertaining to the specific personal interest of a Board member are discussed, the Board Member needs to let state the conflict of interest and not engage in the discussion or participate in a vote.
Board Meetings: You are required to attend 75% of the Board Meetings. The Board Meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of the month beginning with education at 5:00 and the meeting at 5:30.
Special Meetings: Not regularly scheduled–called periodically as needed.
Planning Sessions: Once a year, the board and senior management hold a planning session to discuss the future of CFCCU. Each director is also urged to attend conferences to develop their skills and further their credit union knowledge.
Committee Meetings: Each director is elected or appointed to at least one committee. Each committee meets separately 4-8 times per year.
No salary, wage or compensation of any kind is paid to any Board member. The credit union does pay actual expenses of the director for travel, lodging, and meals as needed.
